Tokoroa Engineering

ABOUT US

Tokoroa Engineering was founded in 2008 by John Waldon to produce rugged, reliable mobile meal feeders and calf trailers. Designed to withstand the demanding conditions of New Zealand farming, the trailers quickly gained recognition for their practicality, offering cost-effective in-paddock feeding and safe, ergonomic transport for calves. All equipment featured fully galvanised construction and locally made componentry.

In 2015, the business expanded by acquiring the Milk Bar™ mobile calf milk feeder range from McInnes Manufacturing. Known for its robust design, easy cleaning, and simple operation, Milk Bar quickly became a trusted name in in-paddock calf feeding.

With these three product lines — trailers, feeders, and Milk Bar Mobiles — Tokoroa Engineering expanded its national presence, establishing a dedicated delivery network to support farmers across New Zealand. The company remained committed to NZ manufacturing, using virgin plastic with built-in UV protection in its tanks and troughs, and sourcing NZ-made components wherever possible.

In November 2024, the Tokoroa Engineering product range was acquired by BA Pumps & Sprayers, based in Hautapu, Cambridge. With a modern factory, in-house R&D, and a national support team, BA is proud to continue the Tokoroa Engineering legacy — manufacturing reliable, NZ-made equipment for Kiwi farmers.

Together, BA and Tokoroa Engineering represent the very best in locally made, purpose-built gear for New Zealand agriculture.
